ABMACO plays a key role in the Chilean journey on technology

Executives from ABMACO and associated companies will hold the majority of the seminars

The Brazilian Composite Materials Association (ABMACO) will play a key role in the 2nd Journey of Qualification in Advanced Composite Technologies, an event held from Sept. 06 to 10 in the City of Santiago, Chile. 

Organized by the composite manufacturer Fibrovent – a company from SAME group – several courses and seminars will be held by ABMACO executives, as well as representatives from associated companies.

During the first two days, Gerson Marinucci – Institute of Energy and Atomic Researches (IPEN) professor and ABMACO instructor – will present the seminar “Analysis on Tension and Deformation of Structural Composites”. On Sept. 08-09, Paulo Camatta – ABMACO’s executive manager and Composites Technology Center (CETECOM) technical executive – will present the seminars: “Introduction to Thermoset Polymer Composites”, “RTM Light Process” and “Infusion Process”.

On Sept. 10, Camatta will hold another seminar about “Composite Materials and Advanced Technologies”. After that, Gilmar Lima, ABMACO’s president, will talk about the development of the Brazilian market. The Brazilian participation in the Chilean event ends with the seminars held by Erivelto Mussio (MVC Plásticos) and Ademir de Marchi (Reichhold), both about the applications of composite materials to civil construction.

“ABMACO’s efforts are becoming a benchmark for the other South American countries. An evidence of that is as our growing participation in this Chilean event, which was well smaller last year, with only three seminars”, reminds Camatta. Actually, the influence of the Brazilian association is constantly increasing and, according to Víctor Poblete, Fibrovent's manager, Chile may create its own association based on ABMACO model. “Therefore, we'll have to count on the support from an organization such as the Brazilian one”, he says.

According to Poblete, the event organized by Fibrovent will tighten the relations between the Chilean and Brazilian composite industries. “Companies from both countries are straightening their commercial relations. And events like this, based on innovation and technology exchange, are extremely beneficial for both countries.”
