ABMACO is organizing in Rio the seminar “Composites in the 2014 World Cup”
The entity intends to show that the Brazilian composites industry is ready to take advantages of the business opportunities generated by the competition
The Brazilian Composite Materials Association (ABMACO) is preparing the seminar “Composites in the 2014 World Cup”, which will take place on the 12th, in Rio de Janeiro (RJ). Seven experts on the material and the famous Brazilian designer Índio da Costa will present to an audience including representatives of main contractors, banks, governments, universities and the society in general.
“The World Cup will provide numerous business opportunities for the Brazilian composites industry, something at approximately USD 450 million by 2014. And with this event, we will show that we are fully capable of taking advantage of them”, says Gilmar Lima, president of ABMACO.
“Since it is a versatile material, we will participate in most of the investments required to perform the World Cup in Brazil”, he adds. The range of applications is so vast that composites are transformed into light and heavy-duty vehicles parts, pipes, tanks, floors, seats, ladders, roofs and street furniture in general (Bus stops and ATMs, among others).
